EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2021 your FINTRAC obligations as a Registrant have changed. The important highlights of what FINTRAC now requires are:

  • The forms have changed – only the new forms will be acceptable to FINTRAC.
  • You are now required to determine whether a client is a Politically Exposed Person or Head of an International Organization and if so a NEW FORM is to be completed.
  • Beneficial Ownership information from Corporate/Entity clients must now be obtained – CREA has provided a standard Letter of Consent for this requirement.
  • Large virtual currency transactions (e-transfers and crypto currencies) must be reported.

The NEW FORMS, the Letter of Consent template, and other materials including FAQs are available below. The new forms are also now available in WEBForms® and REALTOR Link®.
